  1. Need uses the CTL3D.DLL library to give 3D look and feel to its
  2. controls.  CTL3D.DLL is a Microsoft supplement to Windows which
  3. many programs use.  Chances are you already have this file in your
  4. WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory, however, if you don't, you should copy
  5. this file to the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to get the 3D look for
  6. Need.  If you already have CTL3D.DLL installed, you might want to
  7. check to see if the one included with Need is newer than the version 
  8. you already have, if so, make a backup of the version installed,
  9. and copy the CTL3D.DLL that came with Need to the appropriate directory.

  11. Other than that, Need can be run from anywhere.  Just make sure NEED.HLP
  12. file is in the same directory as NEED.EXE.

  14. To put Need in Program Manager, first make a program group for Need
  15. (FILE/NEW).  Then drag NEED.EXE from File Manager and drop it in the
  16. newly created group inside of Program Manager.  From Program Manager,
  17. you can edit the properties of Need (click on the icon, then FILE/PROPERTIES)
  18. and put the path, and name of your usual data file in the command line field.
